On 8 July, we were delighted to bring together colleagues from across Fusion for our annual Staff Conference. This year’s theme was Collaboration, one of Fusion’s five core values, and the day provided a fantastic opportunity for teams from different services and offices to connect, share ideas, and learn more about each other’s work.
Throughout the conference, staff explored how collaboration sits at the heart of everything we do. By working together across teams and services, we can deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients. The activities and discussions throughout the day encouraged everyone to reflect on the positive impact that effective collaboration has, not only on colleagues but also on the people we support.
One of the highlights of the day was our Service User Panel, organised by Rebecca Moss, HOMES Support Team Leader, and Lisa Kennedy, Operations Manager. It was incredibly inspiring to hear directly from our clients about their journeys, the barriers they have faced, and how Fusion has supported them in overcoming challenges.
Listening to their stories was both empowering and heartwarming. Clients spoke openly about how their confidence has grown and how the skills they have developed through Fusion, whether through the support of a dedicated Support Worker, our talented Tutors, or other services across the organisation, are helping them thrive in their everyday lives.
The conference was also an opportunity to celebrate the incredible work our staff do every day. This year, we introduced our new Staff Awards, giving colleagues from across the organisation the chance to recognise those who have gone above and beyond to support a colleague, a client, or the wider organisation while consistently demonstrating Fusion’s values of Collaboration, Inclusivity, Commitment, Empowerment, and Always Listening.
A huge congratulations to everyone who received an award, and to all those who were nominated. The stories shared through the nominations highlighted the dedication, compassion, and commitment that make Fusion such a special place to work.
Finally, we took the opportunity to bid a fond farewell to Moira Vangrove, our dedicated Chair of the Board of Trustees, who has been part of Fusion for more than 20 years. Throughout her time with us, Moira’s knowledge, determination, and caring nature have helped guide the organisation and support its continued growth and success.
We are incredibly grateful for the contribution she has made over the years and for the lasting impact she has had on Fusion. Thank you, Moira, and we wish you all the very best for the future.
